Stephen Sheridan and Bridget Mangan
Stephen Sheridan
was born in Co. Tipperary, Ireland 1825 and died February 5, 1890 of pneumonia at 64 years
of age. He is buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Rutland Vermont. He married Bridget
Mangan. Bridget died in Aug 10, 1898. They lived at 126 West St in Rutland, Vermont.
Stephen's occupation is listed as laborer and marble sawyer.
Stephen's obituary states:
Rutland Herald Feb 7, 1890
"Mr Stephen Sheridan, one of the oldest Irish American citizens of Rutland, died on
Wednesday evening of pneumonia following an illness of ten days, aged 65 years. Mr.
Sheridan was prominently identified with Irish societies and with the church. He leaves a
widow, one son and four daughter, two of whom are in convents. A large circle of
acquaintances also will mourn over his decease. Funeral services will be held at St.
Peter's church at 9 o'clock on Saturday morning, high mass being celebrated by Rev. Father
Gaffney."
