Ingredients

 

Officially, pickled ginger slices should always be served with sushi. By eating this your taste will be neutralized. Since I don't like the taste of ginger, I never serve it. The sushi does not taste any less good!!

Wasabi (Japanese horse-radish) - available in powder (add water ) or ready-made in a tube - to serve with the sushi. Also needed while making sushi. Attn.: do not use too much, it's very hot!!
Soy sauce - to serve with the sushi
Other ingredients to your own liking
Tofu - for making "inari-zushi"
Sesame-
seed
Eggs (to make omelets).

Nori (roasted seaweed) - for different kinds of sushi, for example sushi-rolls.

Cucumber

Pieces of pepper

Shiitake

Kombu and bonito-shavings - for making stock (dashi). You need dashi to make soup and folded omelets.
Different kinds of fresh fish : eel, fish eggs, mackerel, salmon, shrimps, trout, tuna, etc.
Rice vinegar - to give the rice it's typical taste
Mirin (rice-wine) - can be added to the rice while boiling (optional)
Kombu (seaweed), Sake - can be added to the rice while boiling (optional)
Sushi-rice (also called "Japanese rice")
