Happy New Years! Went to an art auction with B.A. and K.A. at the Burlington Marriott. I didn't buy anything this time but K.A. bought a Tarkay serigraph. It's beautiful. |

10:00 am dentist appointment to get full x-rays in case I decided to get braces. Also had to get a filling replaced. My dentist thinks I'm so funny because I don't like to use novocaine or any other drugs for this. Just drill and be done with it! |

Conducted a heuristic evaluation on RCSTR and RPLUG for Susan Choi today. |

| January 4 |
Watched the Green Bay Packer football game today at Bob Mitchell's house. Green Bay beat San Francisco (35-14). Later went to Dunn & Gaherins for drinks and dinner with K.V. and S.B. |

Ken came over to look at the VW to buy it. Didn't buy it after all. Went to Regina's Tea Room in Quincy to have my tarot cards read. That place is a riot. It shares a building with a gun shop which just seems funny to me. Went with B.A. and K.A. and then went to Delaney's Pub afterwards to share stories of our readings. |

Another dentist appointment today, this time for some deep scaling. How horrible. It doesn't hurt it's just awful to have to sit there for so long while the dentist is scraping your teeth. He keeps cool posters on the ceiling so at least there is something to look at during the process. |

Yet another dentist appointment to continue the scaling. They only do a quarter of your teeth at a time, so this is a rather lengthy process. He needs some new posters on the ceiling! At least when the hygienist cleans my teeth, she has the T.V. on and let's me control the remote. |

10:00 Usability Lab meeting with my boss Mike Bayles., Ed Orlinski, Andrea Takvorian, Christine Creedon and Joanne Wright. We checked out the space on the 2nd foor near the training rooms to see what would be possible to use for a full usability lab. It looks pretty promising though we won't be able to get everything we wanted. 11:30 conducted a heuristic evaluation on RGIBBS. Dinner at the Busy Bee Pub in Watertown for wings with K.V. and S.B. |

It snowed today. K.V. cooked dinner for R.A., V.S., S.B., and myself and then we rented the movie Fargo. What a hoot! That has got to be the best movie I've seen in a long time. Love the accent! |

Watched football at Bob Mitchell's again. This time Green Bay beat Carolina. This means they go to the Superbowl!! Patriot's beat Jacksonville. |

Orthodontist appointment at 1:00. His name is Dr. Carlamere but said to call him Dr. Carl. He's really cool. Actually, everyone there is so nice. This was just the initial appointment to see what can be done about my teeth and how much it will cost. |

Bette's birthday today so we (K.V., J.B., and me) took her to dinner at Topsy's. It's really called Fontaine's now but it used to be called Topsy's which I think is a better name. It's a tacky looking place with the big neon chicken out front on the corner of the VFW Highway and Rte. 109 in West Roxbury. |

Went to dinner at TKO'Shea's in Canton with K.V. Met a guy named Scott. He seems nice. He also has the same braces I'm thinking of getting and you can barely notice them so I'm quite relieved. |

Dinner at Michael's on the Waterfront downtown with K.V. and S.B. I love this place--great food, great wine, great atmosphere. |

Went to Magnolia's in Cambridge with K.V. to pick up the Jambalaya for the Superbowl game tomorrow. Mike would only let us buy it from this place--supposed to be the best. It does smell good. From there, we went over to Michael's on the Waterfront for dinner. We found a parking space right in front of the restaurant and as we were getting ready to parallel park, some jerk pulled into the spot behind us, or at least was trying. We got out of the car and tried to yell at them to move, that this was our parking space, though I guess we didn't seem that threatening. Fortunately, the valet's at the restaurant across the street saw the whole thing and came over and yelled at the guy that we were there first and they had to go. He finally left and we got the spot. |

11:00 appointment with Dr. Carl to have the spacers put into my teeth. This is the first step before the braces go on. I guess I have to wear these for a week to start moving my teeth so they can fit the braces on. Everything seemed fine at first but I have to tell you, after a while it really started to hurt. School again tonite. |

Went to dinner at the Four Courts restaurant in Dedham with Scott. I could barely eat because the spacers are really doing a job on my teeth. I had to order pasta since it wouldn't be so tough to eat. Even past hurt my teeth though. I'm also discovering that Scott is a very dull boy. After dinner we decided to rent a movie so we went over to Blockbuster to find one. The only movie he wanted to see was Tin Cup. I should have know since all he talked about was golf this and golf that. Golf seems to be his whole life. As we went up to the front to pay for the movie, he suddenly disappeared. Hmmmm. I ended up paying for the movie and just as suddenly, he reappeared after I finished paying. This is not going well. We went back to my place and put the movie in. At some point, I fell asleep. Tin Cup has got to be the dullest, worst movie ever. Oh My God. I think that also describes the date and I've decided I don't ever need to see him again. |
