110301 » tiredness=drunkeness

listening to | soundgarden
feeling | chirpy. i got 11 hours sleep last night!!!!

2.30pm

has anyone ever noticed how extreme sleep depravity seems to make people act like they are drunk? i hadn't really noticed this until last night.

it was my friend kylie's 21st last night and brodie and i were absolutely exhausted, but went anyways. we threw down a couple of guarana pills and hoped that would hype us up a little. didn't work. we spent the entire night making disjointed conversation with each other. we had no one else to talk to, as kylie's other friends decided we were outcasts and were not to be spoken to. might have had something to do with the fact that the 1st thing i did when i got there was pay out all the guys for thinking they were men because they could semi-operate a bbq.

so, brodie and i continued our unintelligible conversation that somehow made sense to no one but each other. sleep deprivation also = intvention of a new language where by you must also be sleep deprived to understand.

brodie: now sleep rest home bed now.
me: yes, sleep home bed rest good.
brodie: with a man.
me: with a man from the band.

hahaha. sorry, that last part was a carry-over from the other night when we went out and ended every sentence with 'with a man.' this has now morphed into ending every sentence with 'with a man from the band.' try it:

'im going to the toilet... with a man from the band!'
'im going to bed... with a man from the band!'
'im going to get changed... with a man from the band!'

see, it's all good.

last night i also declared my undying love for toohey's extra dry beer. i'm still a little unsure if it was the tiredness that caused this or not. funilly, i don't think it was. my friends were rather taken aback when out of the blue i announced that i wanted to marry toohey's extra dry and started caressing the bottle i had in my hand. see, tiredness really does = drunkeness.

see, sometimes i love extra dry so much, i want to be an entire carton of it.

i think jerry springer could make up an entire episode on the four of us and the inanimate objects we want to marry. i asked about a month ago whether or not it was possible to be inlove with a cd. i think it is. songs too. i seriously think that jeff buckley's song 'grace' gave me a mini orgasm the other day when i was listening to it. i had goosebumps all over and felt all tingly! *yum*

proposed jerry springer show titles whereby we four (vic, jen, sar and myself) could make up the entire show:

#1 i'm going to marry an inanimate object - and you can't stop me! (courtesy of vic)
#2 i'm going to marry a famous rockstar and have 10,000 of his babies!
#3 i had an internet stalker
#4 i am obsessed with a famous dead musician - today i attempt to make contact!
#5 intervention: our friend is in love with a nerdy children's tv show host - today we tell her it's us or him!
#6 i am in love with a gay man - today i tell him and attempt to turn him straight!

ok, where was i? sleep depravity, that's right. this is how tired i was by the time i left the party:

kylie: say goodbye kate.
me: goodbye kate

that is right. i committed a mortal sin. the dreaded unfunniest joke of all unfunny jokes. *shame, shame, shame*

while driving me home, brodie relayed a dilema that was posing some trouble for a friend of hers. you see, she was stuck behind a paddy wagon in traffic, when the prisoner inside started staring at her. 'what is the correct paddy wagon ettiquite?' she thought. should i:

1. look away
2. wave
3. stare back

i cannot say i have reached a conclusion to this yet. let me know your thoughts.

4.45pm

i worked today. has anyone else in retail noticed how customers decide they want to go shopping just as the stores are closing? this is especially the case on a sunday. why is it that at 15 minutes before i pull the doors down about 50 million people decide they simply must come in and mess the shop up?!?!?!! you people piss me off!!! grrrr to all you who do that! is it not possible to leave the house an hour earlier? or do you all just do it because you know it pisses us shop assistants off!? it is for this reason i now attempt to close the doors of the shop 10 minutes early. this usually outwits those consumers who make a habit of this very annoying practice. so instead, it is the other women's clothing retailers in the centre who have to spend 20 minutes after they close tidying up their store. mwahaha.

5.30pm

i promised someone i would mention the tv show breakers in this journal entry. there, i mentioned it. happy now? :P oh, and if anyone remembers the theme for the show, please email me wwith the lyrics. it is driving this particular friend of mine insane.

i decided today i am definitely going to cairns for the easter break. i have enough money to cover the airfare, but not enough money to have fun. now the saving begins. i mentioned i was going to begin saving the other day, but i have to mention it again. this is because the day after i mentioned it last time, i went out and bought a cd and some clothes. now the real saving starts. i promise. you are all entitles to give me a good spanking if i break this promise. ;)

6.50pm

obviously, i haven't been getting a lot of sleep lately, but yesterday, before brodie picked me up for kylie's party, i dozed off while listening to the new motorace cd. isn't is funny how songs can infiltrate your dreams? all i remember is patch, the lead singer of motorace, pointing at me and saying "kate, you are the new chairman of the board!" i then recall feeling extremely happy. i then woke up and realised how goddamn weird i am. lol.

until next time, be good to your mother.
