5.00pm
well,
after much drama, i saw the superjesus last
night. my sister and i turned up at newcastle
uni's bar on the hill at about 8.45pm to find the
gig had sold out! i definitely wasn't prepared
for this. i mean, the superjesus hadn't played at
the uni for over 2 years, but i was still shocked
that the tickets had sold out so early. i checked
to see if the guy who is head of activities at
uni had any tix left. he didn't. i contemplated
going to find stewie rudd, the bassist for the
superjesus, and seeing if he remembered me and
would maybe let my sister in. to save myself from
any embarrassment incase he did not remember me,
i didn't.
finally, we gave in. i went over to offer two
girls who had caught the train with us my ticket,
as they also needed one. just as the girls handed
over the money, and i the ticket, another girl
piped up and said she had a spare ticket. the
girl i had just sold mine to looked at me
sympathetically and then put my ticket back in my
hand and told me to buy the spare ticket that had
been offered to me for my sister. she said she
would wait and find another ticket. yay! we were
in!! :D
palladium were on when we got inside. they were
ok. eskimo joe were interesting for all of about
15 minutes, so we ventured outside. a few minutes
later my buddy andrew rocked up. he had sneaked
in! this is no mean feat when you are
6'7"!!! i couldn't believe he managed it! he
said he just hung around a specific part of the
verandah until the security patrolling outside
became enthralled in a conversation they were
having, then he made his move! go drew!
not long after that, the superjesus came on. damn
i love rock and roll! the sound was so LOUD last
night. in addition to the regular speaker stacks
at either side of the stage, there was a row of
massive speakers lined up along the entire length
of the stage, infront of the barrier. for the
first time in a long time, my ears were ringing
after a gig.
sarah is still the ultimate rock chick, paul is
as sexy as ever (and still wears that 'public
bar' shirt), stewie still looks like my friend
ben, but the new guitarist, tim, has noticibly
changed his image! when i saw them last year at
the annandale in sydney, tim had the whole
'indie' look going on. last night he had spiked
hair, tight bonds shirt and black pants. very
cool... even a little sexy.
ooooooh! i nearly forgot! there was this guy
standing infront of me -and a little pressed up
against me - last night, and i swear he was a
paedophile! my god! he had to be a paedophile! he
was so scarey looking! he had THE worst hair i
have ever seen, really bad dorky glasses and an
old blue (way too tight) bonds shirt tucked into
his overly snug jeans! eeeeeeeww!! oh yeah, and
he would have been about 40. he was hanging
around with another shady looking character who
was a little shorter than he. *nightmares* when i
mentioned a paedophile looking guy to my sister,
she knew who i was talking about before i
described him.
listening to | rage. my tv is
busted, so i can't actually watch it, only listen
to it. ooers, machine gun fellatio just came on!
:D
feeling | even more tired!
2.10am
i just got home from going to the local heat of
raw comedy. damned fine it was too! many laughs
were had by all. one guy came all the way from
bathurst to make us laugh. the only chick to
enter was natalie imbruglia's sister. well, i'm
assuming it was her sister. before she came on i
was thinking what a natalie imbruglia tryhard she
was. she looked SO much like her and had all the
same manerisms! she was then introduced as
someone-or-other imbruglia. apparently natalie
imbruglia's family live around newcastle. she
sang a song about being bad in bed. funny. if
there are still heats coming up in your area, i
advise you go! even better, if you are in sydney,
get your arse to the basement for the state
final!
oh, the cute gay guy i saw the other night was
there too. he didn't look anywhere near as cute
last night. see, i'm learning. ;)
after the comedy show finished, we headed off to
the cbd nightclub in town. as we were leaving we
walked through the room where the band were
playing. have you ever heard a guitar band try to
cover the prodigy? yeah, well i hadn't either,
and now i know why. IT SOUNDS BLOODY CRAP! they
then started doing kylie minogue's latest song
after that, so we promptly headed for the door.
that is all
