i had a site visit for one of my chemical
engineering subjects today. we went to delta emd,
who produce 10% of the worlds demand of
electrolytic manganese dioxide. this basically
means that one in ten batteries in the world are
made from their product. we had to wear hard hats
and safety glasses. not a good look, i tell you.
plus, we had to wear long pants and long sleave
shirts, which was not fun considering it was hot
today! it was pretty boring, but after we left we
headed into the mall in newcastle and went to
revolution cd.
i knew there was a reason i had banned myself
from cd stores. i bought a few things, the best
of which was this really cool soundgarden double
cd bootleg called 'push.' it looks bloody awesome
for a bootleg, but i have yet to listen to it. i
also got a jane's addiction bootleg, garbage self
titled with the bonus disc cuz i didn't have the
bonus disc with the copy i already have, a crow
single and the smashing pumpkins' 'bullet with
butterfly wings' single. sadly, they didn't have
that michael bolton cd that i saw there last
time. i only want it for the picture on the front
cover. it is the dodgiest photo you have ever
seen! you have never seen such big hair and so
much chest hair in your life! i wanted to scan
the photo and then re-sell the cd. hehe.
i'm seeing the superjesus tonight. haven't seen
this band in ages! i used to love them a couple
of years ago, but their new stuff just doesn't
have the same 'oomf' as their older material.
they always put on a good live show though, so it
should be topso. besides, sarah is a rock chick,
and rock chicks are cool!
speaking of sarah mcleod, how irritating is her
sister leah? you know who i'm talking about, she
is on that dodgy lifestyle program that is aimed
towards twenty-somethings. she irritates the crap
out of me!
still on the topic of rock chicks, i got my
angelfish cd in the mail the other day. angelfish
was shirley manson's band before she joined
garbage. i was warned that the cd was a bit crap
a while back, but i had to have it because, well,
it's shirley! i looooooove shirley! the cd is a
little blondie-ish. quite cool. shirley doesn't
use that seductive singing style she uses now in
garbage. that was the one disappointment with it.
after missing my train stop the other day because
i was so intent on beating the high score my
friend set on my mobile for snake, i finally beat
his score the other night. not once, but 3 times!
woohoo! when i mentioned this to timi he demanded
to have a go. the biatch set a new high score...
of 863! it is going to take me forever to beat
this! my high score is only 668!! *grumble*
