i
saw the band george last night and the night before.
Friday night:
we turned up early thinking this kinda funky jazz
band, chi, were on first. they weren't. fanny's
had incorrectly advertised that they were
playing, when infact it was a boring solo artist
named tonchi.
so, we had a bit of a wander over to the
merchandising stand. nick, george's guitarist was there. he gave me
a kiss and a hug (*swoon*) and asked jono and i
if we had seen our names on the door.
jono and i: our names are on the
door?
nick: so you didn't see you
names on the guest list?
me: *confused look* why would we
assume our names were on the door?
nick: man, i can't believe you
guys paid to get in!
me: *jokingly* i demand a
refund!
nick: hang on, that's a good
idea. *motions the roadie over towards him* these
guys are guests and they paid. can you see they
get their money back. *roadie leads us out the
front to get our money back*
wowies i feel so special now! so loved! so
shocked that george don't actually think i am a
crazy, obsessed stalker. :D
at any rate they were fabuloso! katie performed 2
new songs live for the first time and ty did a
newie he had never performed before, also. we
always seem to get the new songs in newcastle!
yay!
saturday:
love love love love love love love love love love
love love love love love love love
that was the emotion flowing through me on
saturday night as i watched george. if they had have been any better
i think i would have orgasmed in public. i felt
like running up to random strangers and hugging
them.
a band named sea saw were up first. they weren't
too bad. the singer dedicated the last song to
his wife. it was a song he had written for her.
see gentlemen, this is why i need a musician for
a boyfriend. too bad the song kinda reminded me
of a combination between michael bolton and sting
post his police years.
fourplay (four piece string
quartet) were next and were tops. they didn't do
their cover's of the beastie boy's 'sabotage' or
metallica's 'enter sandman' but they did do jeff buckley's 'grace.' yay! i was a
happy lassy because of that. the russian guy was
insane and lara was beautiful. tops tops tops.
and then came george. katie looking gorgeous in a navy
blue long velvet dress. i swear katie has the
best makeup i have ever seen. it always looks
perfect. but anyhoo....
if this band gets any better they will be
completely earth shattering. with the talent they
have they deserve to be the hugest band in the
world. katie noonan had me doubting my long held
belief that no one will ever surpass jeff buckley. katie is without a
doubt the best female vocalist i have ever heard
and may well surpass jeff, in my mind, if she
keeps going the way she is. *sigh* some of those
notes she hits are just beyond comprehension.
what i wouldn't give to have her talent. or her
brother's. ty has one of the best male voices i
have ever heard. he really showed that off last
night when he joined katie in her scat intro
before the song 'spawn.' ty was hitting some
massive notes!
i seriously cannot rave enough about this band.
never have i felt such emotion when seeing any
other band perform. i seriously think i am inlove
with them. inlove with them and the guitarist's
arms. he has nice arms.
oh,
oh, oh! i bought stuff today! a new bag and a new
skirt.
 my funky new bowling bag
i am going to the you am i jjj live at the wireless and

to look spiffy for it. fun fun fun!
