Student Dress
We do not dictate to students what they should wear unless the appearance of the student:
Affects the safety of that student or others
Is disruptive to the learning process
Indicates affiliation with or admiration of negative social influences such as gangs, cults and substance abuse.
Therefore, the school does not allow: (for all students)
Shorts and other clothing that are too tight. This includes spandex shorts, skirts or ripped out jeans worn exclusively as outer garments.
Bare midriffs which includes crop tops and tube tops, tank tops, or clothing worn in a manner that reveals undergarments.
shoes must be worn at all times. Shoes must provide protection and back heel support. Unfortunately, Birkenstock sandals do not offer adequate protection. Open-toed shoes do not provide adequate coverage/ protection and con bed unsafe, therefore, we are advising they not be worn. School personnel will have students change shoes when they are not acceptable. A separate pair of athletic shoes is required for P.E.
Shirts with logos or slogans that depict controlled substances, violence or antisocial behaviors or language inappropriate for school.
Hats, caps or visors of any kind.
Sun glasses worn in classroom.
Clothing, jewelry, emblems, badges, symbols, signs or other items which may be considered gang or tagging related.
Spikes or chains as an article of clothing or as a part of an article of clothing.
No pants or shorts may be worn below the waist, commonly known as "sagging". Pant cuffs must not be frayed or slit. All pants and shorts must be hemmed.
Oversized baggy pants are not allowed. Pants must fit at the waist and stay at the waist without a belt or suspenders, etc.
No clothing may be worn which would facilitate the concealment of anything that should not be at school. Shirts must fit at the shoulders and may not hang down below the palm of the student's hand.
Belts are to fit waist sizes
and must not hang down the front, loop around, or have buckles with insignia/initials.
Shorts or cutoffs are not to be worn with socks that meet the hem or cuffs.
Bib overalls must be worn with both straps fastened.
Bandannas of any kind are not permitted.
