ETY
Ettie at Home.
Ettie replaced PLAN B. Ettie
is a 1998 Ford Aeromax. The prime mover weighs 8.6 tonnes. The
trailer is 13.7 metres long and weighs 8.5 tonnes. The payload
capacity is 26 tonnes.
The Prime Mover. And the Trailer.
It is powered by a fully computerised
diesel motor and the inside is full of gadgetry.
Mobile Phones, Instruments
and CB Radios.
In two years, Ettie has travelled
about 360,000 km. Ettie mainly travels between Newcastle, NSW
and Brisbane, Queensland but often goes to Sydney. She has also
travelled to far North Queensland, Perth, Western Australia and
Melbourne, Victoria. So there has to be a bed:
The "Dog Box".
The most common loads are long
timber from the U.S.A. and steel from Newcastle but sugar, mining
machinery, large palm trees and many other strange things are
also carted around the countryside. Sir Francis Drake (a duck)
and a bag of snakes have been passengers.
Load of Long Timber from the
U.S.A.
Ettie took many bits & pieces
to the Sydney Olympic Site during its construction, including
the machinery that made the hockey field. She also went touring
on the Vans Warped Tour carrying the timber ramps for the motorcycle
stunts.
