The impact of development on the environment has been disastrous. This has been a global phenomenon, which proves how past developments have actually failed. The future of mankind has been affected. Future generations will not be able to survive. There are many questions that need to be addressed, and unless we show responsibility towards our environment, a harmonious society and sustainable business will not be achieved.

The lack of responsibility shown for the environment this century has led to a group of companies and individual business leaders banding together in the belief that they can contribute to solving social and environmental problems locally and globally. They believe that business should prosper and at the same time preserve the natural environment and respect the ecosystem and that good business practice must be promoted to create a just society. This group, known as Social Venture Network (SVN), was established eight years ago in the US to create a more just, human and sustainable world. SVN Europe and America are connected to an influential international network of over 2,000 businesses. SVN Asia (Thailand) was formed in early 1999.

SVN Asia (Thailand) coordinates activities regionally, and widens the network started by SVN USA. By establishing contact with others, exchanging practical experiences, and learning from each other, members will be able to develop their businesses and become more socially and environmentally responsible. Members of SVN are committed to creating a model and just society for future generations.
