BOSTON STATEMENT
CALLS TO ACTION:
We ask what we can do for our country
Our American tradition not only allows us, but also compels us to take direct action when there is evidence of subversion of our “government by the people.”
1. We call for a comprehensive investigation of the 2000 US Presidential election.
- ¨ For the Executive Branch of the Federal Government, we respectfully demand that the US Justice Department appoint Special Prosecutors to investigate suspect behaviors and conflicts of interest of individuals and groups empowered to make decisions affecting the process of electing our Executives. We respectfully demand that the US Commission for Civil Rights, the Federal Elections Commission, and all other bodies with similar jurisdiction investigate the denial of equal protection and investigate violations of all relevant laws. We call upon the Carter Center to investigate and oversee the above investigations as it has done in numerous foreign elections.
- ¨ For the Judicial Branch of the Federal Government, we call upon the American Bar Association and the American Judicature Society to investigate the legal argumentation of the Rehnquist 5 in Bush v. Gore, and to consider disbarment of the Rehnquist 5. We respectfully demand that all judicial oversight bodies investigate the behavior and judicial reasoning of the Supreme Court Justices and bring charges where appropriate. We call upon any Justice or Judge or Clerk or citizen who has information about conflicts of interest in this decision to provide their evidence supporting all investigations.
- ¨ For the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government, we respectfully demand that both Houses of Congress appropriate sufficient funds for Special Prosecutors and appoint Select Committees to investigate vote fraud and conspiracy to commit vote fraud.
- ¨ For State Governments, we respectfully demand that Governors and Legislators appoint Special Committees to verify the accuracy of the election results in their states. We call upon all Attorneys General, Secretaries of State, state election officials, and other state officials with relevant oversight, to investigate the potential for fraud in their elections. We call upon all public officials with knowledge of illegal actions to come forward with their evidence.
- ¨ For Local Governments, we respectfully demand that county and precinct election officials pursue investigations to insure the fairness of the elections in their areas. We respectfully demand that District Attorneys, authorized to empanel grand juries, investigate vote fraud and conspiracy to commit vote fraud, particularly in Florida and Tennessee.
- ¨ For all Americans, we call upon media outlets, think tanks, colleges and universities, and groups of people to pursue thorough investigations of all levels of government. We call upon stockholders of corporations that bankrolled the methods and materials of electoral theft to investigate the actions of employees, managers, and officers. We call upon attorneys and citizens to pursue all legal options to correct election errors. We call upon Private Investigators licensed to uncover illicit behavior to pursue undercover research. We call upon all people with knowledge of ballot tampering, vote fraud, or conspiracy to commit vote fraud, to come forward with their evidence. We call for a complete investigation of the personal histories of Bush and Cheney, including Bush’s military record, their history of arrests, Cheney’s health record, and questionable behaviors in Texas and Wyoming.
- ¨ For the Balance and Stability of International Power, we call upon the United Nations, the World Court, and other international bodies to investigate Election 2000, as they would under similar circumstances anywhere else in the world.
- 2. We call upon individuals to tell your Representatives, Senators, newspapers, radio & TV stations, and other friends and neighbors what really happened in Election 2000 and what we need to do about it.
- 3. We call upon citizens to show nonviolent civil disrespect and civil disobedience where needed and appropriate. We respectfully demand that our elected representatives consider all of the Bush administration’s legislative proposals, executive orders, judicial nominations, and other actions to be illegitimate.
- 4. We call upon the media to provide continuous, comprehensive, unbiased coverage of all matters relating to Election 2000 and the Bush/Cheney regime.
- 5. We respectfully demand prosecution to the fullest extent of the law of all individuals and groups who intimidated vote counters in Miami-Dade County, on the grounds of rioting, trespassing, vandalism, interfering with voting rights, and obstruction of justice. We respectfully demand prosecution of all those who are guilty of ballot tampering, vote fraud, and conspiracy to commit vote fraud.
- 6. We call upon the American people to elect Senators and Representatives in 2002 who are committed to mitigating and undoing the damage of the 2000 election. This will make it possible for us to then call for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney and for the dismissal of all of their appointees.
- 7. We call upon all Americans to reform the American electoral system by means of standardizing national voting systems, eliminating winner-take-all results, instituting systems to count all votes accurately, and providing incentives for involvement of previous non-voters.
- We call the American people to action, to protect our democracy.
