My son, Dana Scott

My father, Fred, my son, Dana, and a friend of Dana's at Tech School graduation.

Dana visiting Roger and I in Sweden during the summer of 2002.

Wow does my scanner need cleaning! All those paintings I've scanned have left their "mark," literally. Okay sorry about that. After not seeing him for quite some time, Dana made a visit from England to Sweden during July 2002 for two wonderful (fast!) weeks so I've added a couple of photos. Bonus: he will bring his girlfriend, Erin, back here during winter so that we may meet her. Really looking forward to that! Anyway, we had a great time during his visit and did lots of sightseeing as well as just hanging out. (In the above pic we were at the old home of a Swedish Pulizter Prize winner named Eyvnn Johnson).

A little about Dana: He turned 21 in October, he was born in San Antonio, Texas and has been a DIE-HARD San Antonio Spurs fan since he was 6 years old. It has only gotten "worse," trust me :) His shining moment took place not too long ago, right before being stationed to England, when he and my dad went to a Spurs game in San Antonio and were chosen to be a "Super Fan" (there are only 6 people chosen from the crowd during each game!! Out of thousands!!). They were able to sit on the bench with the guys, get photos taken together with them, shake hands with guys Dana has idolized for most of his life, and it was a most fabulous experience.

He plays good b´ball himself, and works out with the guys on base in pickup games regularly. He plans to try out for the base team next year (he arrived in England too late for it this year). He is a computer whiz--no mama-bias in that statement--he is smart as can be--finished 1st in his class and is now being trained to instruct newcomers as well as continue learning his own position--and is a really good person. I mean that--he is very special in his own right, but especially to me.

He earned his Eagle Scout ranking during his senior year in high school at St. George, Utah, where he had several good buddies who are on Mormon Missions in Japan right now. We are not Mormon but he fit in well and made some friendships that I can see will be lifelong ones.

During July, not only Dana visited us here in Sweden, but my Dad & his wife, Sue, too.
Roger's family gave a little bbq for 18 ;) in my family's honor.. we had a great time.
(Thanks Kenneth and Berit--the ever-generous hosts!!)

Erin, Dana's very sweet girlfriend.. she has a great smile!
Looking forward to meeting her in a few months :)

He met some greats.. had photos taken w/ them.. here he is with long-time fave, Sean Elliott!!

This is so amazing to me: His being a such a fan from such a young age, now here he is standing next to Sean :)
