| Nick looked out into the night sky as he remembered how long it took him to recover from that night. He had to realize that he couldn’t give up a lifelong friendship for something that one of them didn’t want. And when Nick found out that Brian had chosen Leighanne for his eternal lover, he had to force himself through the same process. He listened to the words blaring through his ears I hope life treats you kind /And I hope you have all you dreamed of /And I wish to you joy and happiness /But above all this, I wish to you love That was what Nick had come to Argentina for, to clear his mind and force his heart back into reality, the reality that didn’t include him and Brian together forever. He had to say goodbye to their love and accept in his heart that he had to give up his angel. Nick realized then that he had let Brian down; he had left him alone at the altar. He knew that one of the other guys would take his place at the ceremony, but Brian knew that no one could fill the spot he had specifically chosen for Nick. Nick understood he would have to explain what happened when he returned, but he knew the best thing was for him to leave. He would have hurt Brian even more by being there, he would have never been able to watch his love slip away. You, darling I love you /Oh, I'll always, I'll always love you (oo-oo) Nick sang the last verse of the song to himself, silently weeping as he removed his headphones and stared into the starry night. “I’ll always love you too Brian.” He whispered before wiping the tears from his cheeks as he walked back into his hotel room. The next morning he would say goodbye to his undying love for Brian, forever. |
