Study Tour in Taiwan
In the summer of '98 I had the opportunity to participate in a study tour in Taiwan (Republic of China). If you guys are wondering where Taiwan is, it's a small island located east of China. I was there for 6 weeks!! I learned a lot about the chinese culture (due to our early morning language classes and our heritage classes). I also made many close friends! I have many fond memories of my trip to Taiwan, which includes going to SOGO on the first day, KTV (from 1am to 6am...it was night when we stepped in but when we stepped out..it looked like broad daylight! we were so suprised!!), squat toilets (of course Masa looked like he was using a squat toilet everytime we stopped to rest -- the squatting! haha), massage chairs (Rob!! need I say more?!?!), flag-stealing (wish I got one!!), sneaking out to go clubbing (so easy huh?! the guards even helped us!), going clubbing (where do they come up with these names...2 Kinky?) and the list goes on!! Anyone who has been on this trip knows that this trip was worth while! At first, I was against the idea of going to Taiwan because it was the summer before everyone went off to university. Although I missed all my friends back home, I had a really good time. Now that I'm back, I miss everyone that I met in Taiwan. The people I've kept in touch with that went on the Taiwan trip want to go back so badly and relive everything that we have done. It's always non-stop talking and laughing whenever us Taiwan crew people get together...and we ALWAYS talk about Taiwan and the memories..nothing more! haha! Want to see some of the things we did in Taiwan? check out my pictures!! (my pics need to be rescanned so... sorry about the quality of the pictures!!)
