For the past five years, Waterloo has been my "home away from home". It has taken me three years to adjust to living in a small town like Waterloo. In first year, I was absolutly miserable. It was like I had to start all over again.. it felt like grade 9.. but with less hope. I didn't do much in my 1A term. All I did was go to class and stay in East 2, Village 1, Room 315 (it was in the corner..) and talk on the phone. I didn't have much of a social live in 1A. I found myself eating meals by myself, watching t.v by myself, and studying by myself. I was too caught up in living away from home and missing all my friends. The only time I really had fun was during our classes in the Weef Lab. It was a good time to socialize, chat on icq, and of course, to do "work". Studying for exams was quite stressful. I swear.. highschool did not prepare me for that! I remember studying with Steph, Bashar, Dimpy and whoever stopped by our study room in the V1 caf. I leard last minute cramming was so not the way to go for an exam!
1B, although it was in the summer, was a lot of fun. I began making more friends and interacting with the people living in my house (S1!). It made it better that friends from my class lived in the same house. I could always depend on my friends to call me to eat meals, to go "careless jumping" and to have "popsicle bitch-fests".
2A was the first time I lived off campus. Me, Bashar, Dimpy and Sean lived in a townhouse up on Albert and Philip (across from the beer store). I stayed at home a lot that term. It was pretty rough in the winter 'cuz we had to walk on unshoveled sidewalks for 15 minutes! It was soo cold! I began taking advantage of living on my own this term. One time, Sean and I felt soooo bored we actually went to Toronto for a few hours, then came back to Waterloo at 2 am! And there were nights where we would have a craving for a donut, so we would walk to Tim Hortons (right across the street from us) at 3 am and get free food! :) And who can forget Mings huh? :)
2B was an awesome term! Again, my roomies were Bashar, Dimpy and Sean. This time, we lived in a cozy bungalow in MacGregor Cres. It was really far from campus but.. hey.. we had to find a place last minute and this was the most decent place we could find. Although I didn't spend a lot of time at home this term (I trained myself to work in the library!), I had some fun moments at home. One incident that had Bashar and I nearly pissing our pants laughing was the night we boobie-trapped our house. We put tape and saran-wrap everywhere!! We were waiting for our roommates to come back and fall into our boobie-trap but... I guess they were tired and didn't really appreciate our prank. Practical Jokes Inc. :) haha!
I would have to say my 2B term wouldn't have been the same without Phil (a.k.a The Assman). It was nice see someone consistently and to have someone that enjoyed my company.. even though we saw each other every single day. I havn't had someone like that in Waterloo... reminded me of highschool. We musta tried every single restaurant in University Plaza.. and beyond! I have never seen so many chinese movies consecutivley before in my life!!
3A was also a lot of fun even though nothing was really open on campus during the summer. Having a car really helped, cuz I got to see more of the town :) I even went to St. Jacobs and the driving range during the term! It was a tough term academically but I made it!
4A and 4B.. what can I say? After coming back from exchange I thought i would be difficult to adjust. But man.. it was like I never left! My last year was the best! I had the time of my life. 4A.. ok so I worked like a dog.. but 4B? haha! I joined a floor hockey team with my classmates (The K-K's), played squash, went to the gym... I have never felt so fit! IRS and Gradball were one of the most memerable moments. To all the friends that have stuck w/ me through these 5 fun years *cheers* I'll miss ya lots! Don't ever forget the fun we had and remember to always K.I.T :)
