Welcome to my Home Page.

Hello, my name is Leilani Spring. My husband Raymond and I are now semi-retired after spending many of our married years in the U.S. Air Force and travelling to many enjoyable places. My one and only trip out of the country was to Norway for 3 years which was a wonderful adventure.

After returning to the States, we settled in Colorado Springs for a tour at Ent AFB
until my husband's retirement.

While there, we adopted a beautiful boy and named him Bryan.

We then went to California where my husband began a new career and stayed there for 20 years. After his second retirement, we decided to come back to where his roots were, Upstate New York, and rejoin his family.

We bought a beautiful home in a small village not far from his family. One sad note - our son died in New York the beginning of 1997 after we had him for 29 wonderful years.

We have been enjoying the life of leisure (HA!) We are both working part-time, and spending a lot of our free time doing all the usual necessary things around the house.

I have been interested in our family history for many years. When my husband's father was dying from cancer, we began assembling the family tree with the help of my brother-in-law
(a Certified Genealogist). We were able to trace the SPRING family back to the 1600's and Dad was given a book of the history before he died. The information that was compiled was later published in
"The Register of Americans of Prominent Descent", Volume 1.

Since then, I have continued with the search. But only since I connected with the internet, have I been able to truly make a dent in the family history. With the help of many friends and good advice from those in WBS Genealogy Chatroom, I am now able to begin tracing my husband's family in England. Hopefully, I will soon have a breakthrough there.

For a while, I thought I had found a connection to a Thomas Spring born in England in 1385, but it turned out to be a false hope. There is a connection as John Spring is listed as William Spring's 4th cousin, but we have been unable to make a connection as yet.

Some of the names I have been researching in my husband's line follow. I hope that someone out there will be able to help locate some of our missing links and provide some answers:

Barttelot, John, b. Abt 1398 in N. Stoke, Sussex, England
BIALAS (Belaze), Josephine, b. 4/1/1893 in Jablone, Konin, Poland
GREEN, Henry III, b 6/28/1757 in Killingly, CT
Houseknecht, John A., b. 9/11/1832 in Hughsville, PA
REMBAS (Rembacyz), Ignatius, b. 3/10/1884 in Rusawice, Konin, Poland
SPRING, John, b. Abt 1584 in Pakenham, Suffolk, England
Winchester, John, b. 5/19/1611 in Kent, England

I HAVE NOW FOUND THAT OUR FAMILY CAN BE TRACED
BACK TO FIFTEEN MEMBERS OF THE "MAYFLOWER".
Some of those individuals follow:

Reliance Snow, 1780-1874 (married to Amos Spring, Jr., 1779-1850)
is a descendant of the following two individuals:
STEPHEN HOPKINS and THOMAS ROGERS

Abigail Seabury, 1735-1781 (married to John Mason, 1734-1769)
is a descendant of the following three individuals:
JOHN ALDEN, PRISCILLA MULLINS and MYLES STANDISH

I am also attempting to locate information on my side of the family who emigrated from Germany and Madeira, Portugal in the 1800's. Below are the names and facts on these individuals:
