~Selena... the Woman, the Myth, the Legend~

Here's two of my babies... that's my doggie "Dream" sitting on the spoiler. She's a seven year old Italian Greyhound--
yep, that's as big as she gets. She's such a sweetie. Don't worry I didn't let her scratch the paint :)

OK, so you wanted to know a bit more about me... well I won't bore you with every minor detail but here are just a few interesting things:

I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I received my BA in English and Communications from Loyola University New Orleans in December 2001. I finally got a real job as a librarian for the parish. I'm looking forward to starting library school this fall so I can move up the ladder.

My Camaro, was my baby and my first step into the gearhead world. And now that I have my Hawk I am in heaven! I am a muscle car fanatic: classic and late model. My friends are all the same... car nuts just like me! Of course, all of my female friends think i'm looney, but they're typical chicks and just don't understand my need for speed. I find it amusing though when they ask me for advice when their car is giving them trouble. I don't mind it, though.

OK, umm more about me? Well, as you know... my name is Selena (but I'm not spanish), I'm 25, and recently married. My new husband, Scott, and I met through our car club. Gearheads unite! Since we are both speed freaks, we got married on April 9, 2004 at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, LA. It was an awesome wedding and I promise to post pics soon!

We go to the drag strip and many car shows often. He has a 2000 Camaro SS convertible that he wants to make an autocross car. The Hawk is for showing. And we also have a 2002 Formula that is going to be an all out drag car once it gets retired from daily driver status.

My Camaro was (sad to say) the typical girlie car... a V6 automatic, but it had pretty much everything I wanted except leather seats, stick, and rear defogger *sigh*. But I've moved up in the world now and I am very happy to have traded the A4 V6 for and M6 V8. The Hawk can hold it's own on the street, but it will remain stock because of its collectibility. I LOVE IT! It's such a thrill to drive. Another perk is that people take me more seriously now when I tell them I'm a car nut with a Firehawk. I'm happy... and the best perk is more muscle for the dollar.

Here's a few pics, for your viewing pleasure...

Let's start from the beginning... shall we? My love of horsepower began as a love of horses.
And yes, these pictures are of me. My hair is naturally blonde. In the pictures further down I have reddish-brown hair because I dye it that color.

But don't worry, I still love horses. However, I don't ride them much anymore since I have been taken over by an insatiable need for speed. On the left is my horse Windswept, and on the right is my 200 horse team Angel.

Now we move to more current photos... This first one is of my dog Dream who is the cutest, yet silliest, animal you will ever see. She is such a sweetie.

The next few photos are of myself and friends... On the left, my friend Alysia (who bought my Camaro) and myself at Morning Call late one Saturday night. And on the right, my sorority sister Gidget and I enjoying bid day festivities for the Spring '99 class.
