Belonging

The fire lays dormant,
As the time ticks away.
I lay crying,
Lost in a world of Unknown.
Fearful of the watch
Which clings to me, like a
Hound on the trail.

That?s how it feels to be alone

I feel the fire,
As the strength grows.
My tears cease
When I discover the truth.
Light against dark,
Draws the watch into oblivion
As the strength of a tornado pulls the wind
Into life

That?s how it feels to belong

-------------------------------------------------------------
A poem that came from my searching years, when I first really began to write poetry. Since then it has gotten several major revision, but it still says what I said back in '96-'97(?), that the feeling of being alone and belonging are some of the strongest feelings we have.
