His Eyes That Search The Dance Floor Where He Meets My Gaze

The edges of my eyes are hazy,
Fuzzy,
With the effect of the peaches’ pleasant
Kiss.
Masses of colour spin around,
My white dress blurred with that of reds,
Purples,
and browns.
Arms engulf my body
Almost choking, I cannot
See where I am going
I feel a tug, there in front of
Me.
Those steel blue eyes.
One can almost see eternity in those eyes.
Ripples form in the puddle, a tear rolls down his face,
Invisible.
Movement shakes my feet awake
And I feel swept away.
His voice pours out the sensual of songs,
“…as the world falls down.”
Indeed the world has fallen down
My lips breach the wall of his face.
I taste peaches.
As soon as it begins, I wake up:
It is midnight.

I am a huge "Labyrinth" fan, and for a while had a crush on David Bowie (though I still do), and after thinking about Labyrinth too much, I decided that maybe I would write a poem about it. Low and behold, Voila, and all that great stuff, I have a Labyrinth poem. My heart will always lie with Jareth in the Ballroom (my favourite scene), hence the reason it's set in the Ballroom. To all you "Labyrinth" fans enjoy, this is for you and Jareth. :-)
