Permanence

Discarded and dried up
No longer new
The scars have formed
But underneath the body is crushed

Skeletons in the closet
Protect vital organs
That only bleed dry anyway

Cartilage and skin
Tough, torn only too easily
Left discarded, forgotten to flake away

Permanently marked
Nothing is sacred
Pain recedes, only to be remembered later

Nothing lasts in permanence.

Through the toils that I sometymes face, I find myself writing parts of poems that I never finish. Usaully these get shoved into a folder or notebook until I find them again and finished them. Hence, this poem you see before you.
