Four Seasons in One Poem

Falling inside out,
Turning back flips upside down
I only see a crescent moon
High over the billowing clouds
Winds escape around…

…And cascade through tiny fingers
Green with envy
They turn red when embarrassed
By the winds updraft under their skirts
What you see is what you get…

…Cold, steel teeth
Massacre tender flesh
And it will soon be lost
The youth wiped away
With a burning frigid texture…

…Death walks with a soft foot--
Nothing touches the pure carpet
But the invisible solitude,
No one treads there--
Disappearing tracks…

…What you see;
Green ‘neath the quilted white
And rebirth from the womb,
Fires burn in the belly;
Great bird of life…

…And the fire lights the sky
And pureness disappears
Only to find new paths to walk upon,
In the hollows and shadows
Knows not where it lays.

"Four Seasons in One Day" sparked my interest, when I was listening to it. I realized how quickly the seasons can pass, so, i tried to picture how the seasons would progress in one day. Voila! There you have it. It is quite an interesting poem, isn't it. And recently (as of last semester, Fall '99), Fredonia State's paper "The Leader" published Four Seasons in One Poem, in their Extra section, which is a section devoted to poetry, photography, etc.
