Zephyr, Western Kings

The wind is filled with happiness
Joy
Fear and sadness
Everyday it arouses the mind.

Stillness of the wind
Emotions reign there too
With the winds blowing from the west.

Calling my name,
How I wish I could fly!
A bird,
A falcon,
Soaring with Zephyrs.

Sounds of the heart beating
Inside my chest
We’re flying.

They call
I want to join them
How I wish I could go!
Soaring free everlasting,
Yet I’m trapped
Until Zephyr sets me free.

This is my first poem that ever got published! One summer ('95, I think) it got published in this small literary magazine in this organization I was involved in for a while. It's another free-spirited poem, about nature, emotions, and the need to be free. Around this time I grew to love eagles, falcon, and hawks, so, you'll see them pop up from time to time.
