Mrs. Thomasina Evanchesky, aged 82, died at the Robert Packer hospital in Sayer Thursday night. She had been a patient there since the previous Sunday when she fell down a flight of stairs fracturing a hip.
A resident of Bernice for upwards of 30 years, lately she had been residing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Andrewlavage, there.
Mrs. Evanchesky was a native of Poland and leaves a large family of children, only two of whom are well known here at present, Frank a resident of Bridgeport, Conn. And Mrs. (Frances) John Polinsky, who moved from Bernice to Wilkes-Barre several months ago. A son, William, is on active duty with the U.S. Armed Forces at Hawaii. Mrs. Evanchesky's husband (Francis "Frank", Sr.) preceded her in death twenty-five years ago.
The funeral was Monday morning from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Andrewlavage with a high mass of requiem in St. Francis Church, Mildred. Burial was in the parish cemetary where her late husband is also interred.
Thomasina married Francis EVANCHESKY on an unknown date in Unknown. (Francis EVANCHESKY was born in 1869 in Russia-Poland and died on 3 Jul 1917 in Mildred, PA.)
