Obituary: The Sullivan Review December 24, 1941 Mrs. Thomasina Evanchesky, aged 82, died at the Robert Packer hospital in Sayer Thursday night. She had been a patient there since the previous Sunday when she fell down a flight of stairs fracturing a hip. A resident of Bernice for upwards of 30 years, lately she had been residing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Andrewlavage, there. Mrs. Evanchesky was a native of Poland and leaves a large family of children, only two of whom are well known here at present, Frank a resident of Bridgeport, Conn. And Mrs. (Frances) John Polinsky, who moved from Bernice to Wilkes-Barre several months ago. A son, William, is on active duty with the U.S. Armed Forces at Hawaii. Mrs. Evanchesky's husband (Francis "Frank", Sr.) preceded her in death twenty-five years ago. The funeral was Monday morning from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Andrewlavage with a high mass of requiem in St. Francis Church, Mildred. Burial was in the parish cemetary where her late husband is also interred.
