DOJO TRAINING
"The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle"
The motto of the Navy Seals
Our Dojo practice as true arts, Taiho Jutsu, Aikido and Judo.
Individual Dojo training can differ from other Taiho Jutsu Dojos in Ireland and Britain within our Association.
Although to ensure uniformity in gradings, the same requirements are needed to pass, and Dan grades are only awarded by Sensei Eustace.
We incorporate striking techniques from other disciplines to add variety and cross train to enhance our understanding of other arts.
We use Judo and Tanto Randori, one versus one, and one versus two sparring, along with ground grappling bouts.
We invlove running lines, combat circles and Judo line ups to boost stamina with related training. Contests of striker versus grappler ensue.
As well as our Taiho Jutsu and Aikido tournaments, we enter Ju Jitsu and Judo tournaments.
Our Senior Team Coach, Mr Adrian McCorriston, is in charge of team selection and special training requirements for major events, including the World Championships.
Our Shodan, Mr David Buchanan, specialises in teaching ground fighting submissions. Mr John Marshall teaches standing grappling, having a Second Dan in Judo.
For Dan grades in Taiho Jutsu, traditional Aikido katas must be faultlessly executed. Also the advanced sweeps and throws of Judo.
Japanese terminology and customs are adhered to within the Dojo.
