This painting of the Grand Canal in Venice was made by Bernardo Bellotto (1720-80), who was a nephew of Canaletto, the well known Venetian painter. Bellotto lived and worked primarily in northern Europe, but also painted what his Uncle loved also. I expect that this image is probably about as large as can be fitted into the 800x600 pixel format! |
