[Athens, Attica Road]
A mud brick building inset with small windows of colored glass is the home of Ismena the alchemist. Day or night, olive oil lamps burn brightly from hooks suspended from the eaves of the house, which are discolored from the constant smoke.

[Shop of Ismena the Alchemist]
The interior walls are darkened by the same oily smoke which marks the eaves of Ismena's shop. Row upon row of clay-sealed pots, their contents marked in several languages upon the seals, line the walls like soldiers at attention. Several dull lamps cast a greyish-yellow glow from coiling iron brackets affixed to the walls. You also see Ismena the alchemist.

[Shop of Ismena the Alchemist]
Unlike the exterior and front room of the shop, the walls and ceilings of the backroom are clean and white. Lush ferns in wide clay bowls perch upon carved wooden pedestals. A thick blue and white rug covers most of the floor, providing excellent seating.
