| This is my NGE area. NGE is a very interesting series. Its one of those series that have underlying morals and storylines. At first it looks like your regular giant monsters vs. the good guys in some battle mech looking things. But as you watch this series it turns out that the plot thickens and has many weird twists n' turns. The series revolves most around 3 children. Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, and Asuka Langle. Each child has a specific Eva to pilot and only that Eva will respond to its chosen one. There are exceptions to this though,because NERV has made dummy plugs that will simulate a certain childs brain waves and sometimes these are used. The chosen children happen to all go to the same school, and share some of the same interests. Each child has his or her own problems and each of them go mentally insane at different points in the series. This series also centers around a group called NERV, which designs the EVA units that battle the angels(bad guys). At the head of this organization in Gendo Ikari, Shinji's dad. Gendo is just one of those types of people who have a funny way of showing how they feel. As the series progress it is revealed that Rei Ayanami is a creation of Gendo's. Rei is suposed to look like Shinji's mom and Rei is constantly getting betten up or killed in the series. But, for some strang reason manages to reapear in the next episode. At first I though how the heck did she survive, then you learn that Gendo has made empty clone bodies for Rei, so when Rei is killed her mind is just put into another body. So what are the angels? The angels are like a race of beings that are hell bent on obtaining adam. Adam is also an angel. He was one that was responsible for the large explosion that melted the polar ice caps and caused most of Japan to sink below the sea. Im not quite sure why the angels try so hard to get adam but I know that if they do it will be disasterous. Each angel that attacks NERV is unique, and stronger than the one that came before it. The last element of this series that I can think of is the Human Instrumentality Project. It was mentioned a few times in the movie but I still have no idea what it is. I know it involves the chosen children but for what? Just to clue you in I watched the subtitled version of this series and at times it was hard to read the text.
