• VTT/TNET Instruction:

Courses listed on ATRRS that indicate they are VTT courses may be attended at the Lovejoy USARC Digital Training Facility (DTF).  The Distance Learning Products catalog allows you to search for proponent schools' courses, and the course descriptions provide contact information to register for those courses.  A Distance Learning Classroom Request form should be completed and submitted to the DTF Manager at least six weeks prior to the beginning of any VTT/TNET course.  Distance learning requests shall take precedence over non-distance learning requests.
 
• Resident Instruction:

Unit training managers may reserve the DTF for resident instruction needs.  A Distance Learning Classroom Request form should be completed and submitted to the DTF Manager at least six weeks prior to the beginning of the course.  Any software to be utilized that is not specifically listed on the Accepted Courseware List must be submitted to the DLS test director at Ft. Eustis for testing and acceptance prior to use.
 
• Individual Multimedia Instruction (IMI) and Computer-Based Training (CBT):

The Army has contracted with a company to make its Common Core Tasks and Common Task Tests into interactive media lessons. These may be utilized from any Windows-based computer with an internet connection, including the DLS classrooms. In order for individuals to utilize the computers in any Distance Learning Classroom, they must first fill out a DLS Student Registration form and be assigned a username and password by the Enterprise Management Center (EMC Helpdesk) via the DTF Manager. Once a user is assigned a username and password, that person may access courseware from any DLS Digital Training Facility worldwide.

Additional courseware is available through ATSC's web site or by calling 1-800-ASK-ATSC. Approved courseware is available for use in the DTF upon receipt (only shipping time applies). Courseware that has not yet been approved may be requested via ATSC for approval. Time for approval and receipt of materials can take from four (4) to six (6) weeks. The DTF Manager does not order the courseware for the students; this is the responsibility of the student or the training coordinator.

Computer-based Information Technology training is available to authorized users from SmartForce. Follow the instructions here to secure a SmartForce account. The Distance Learning Products catalog also contains courses that may be a combination of IMI and Video Tele-Training (VTT) instruction. All training is free to students who provide valid Army or Department of Defense identification.

Students may come in any time during non-reserved DTF hours to utilize this courseware. Usage of the facility by non-Army personnel is contingent upon approval by Major Dennis McFadden, Lovejoy USARC Facility Manager.
