Character Information:
Taiyono's true origins lay back deep within the history of the world, which existed seperately from the reality that Edle existed in. Often titled as Aria Doma, or Creedance, by the half-angel Endymion, the world of Eden (called Aria Doma later by Endymion and Sky) was now a desolate, frozen wasteland. A peaceful and happy world as most worlds are in their prime of youth, intruding demons and spirits from the otherworlds entered and waged a four hundred year-long war upon the land. Although the individual occupants were both powerful and knowledgable in Magic and science, war was a foreign and forgotten concept to them that had gone unused for countless years, yet now had to be given rebirth. Therefor, twelve "sages" were appointed to lead the people in battle against the darkness which prevailed against them. Twelve of the strongest individuals in the lands, these Sages led the battle as both Generals, and Religious leaders to the people. Toward the end of the war, Nellen, one of the last sages to have been appointed to the task, was said to have given up hope for victory, and cast a spell upon the land at the sacrifice of her own lifeforce, henceforth making it uninhabitable for both the humans and the spirits. It is said though that ice she spread upon Eden does not represent death, it creates stand still in time or a period of sleep, before the new spring. The Age of Guardians began this day. Spiritual warriors set to guard the plane of Eden till the time of the New Spring came as well as the Tree of Life which exists underneath the frozen earth in a spring of Life-creating water (this was first mentioned by Rain, who on one expedition found an ancient temple ruins in the forst dedicated to the "Last Tree". At the time he did not know what this meant). The first Guardian was Aros, an Angelic entity who fought to protect the humans of Eden through the war, and was spared so that he may protect the land. The next Guardian nearly eight hundred years later (or several thousand years, by the time frame of some other worlds) was Endymion, Aros' son - a half-angel. Unlike his father however Endymion did not linger for long beneath the surface of Eden, before venturing into the next world and setting out on his pilgrimage When Endymion began his journey in the Lands which are now known as New Edle, he quested to find the Reborn Sages to bring about the New Spring of his home. At the age of 175yrs old Endymion died in battle against a personal foe, having found none of the new Sages before his death. The next Guardian was Taiyono, a human from the past Eden brought back to life. It was Taiyono who originally summoned Glados to rise from his sleep in hopes of finding a way of resurecting the land of Eden. What Glados planned wasn't what the Guardian had in mind though. Taiyono later appeared to Uthra in a dream, warning him of Glados's intentions, after that not appearing again till Kitta, Uthra and Sky found their way out of the dimension Glados created. Apologizing to them for everything happened thus far and explaining to them his history as well as the history of Glados, Taiyono gifted them with a seed from the Tree of Life before disapearing, back to his charge.
Role-player's Comments:
I never got to role-play as Taiyono very much, but that simply made it all the more fun considering his character. Out of the cast, he is the mysterious one, appearing very rarely in the outside worlds. The dedication Taiyono has to his duty as Guardian of the Tree is of utmost importance to him. So important that for that reason alone, he does not leave his post ever, and may endure the rest of his life alone in the caverns below the surface of his frozen home, the only living thing left safe the Tree he protects. Strangely enough, another reason I love Taiyono so much is the fact that as part of his character plan, he IS extremely Powerful, more so then Rain was, and probably close to the same level as Sky. The reason thats fun is because its a power he does not often use, and will only use if it is to protect his home.
