Tripod are a group of three, surprisingly, guys, who, equipped with a guitar, sing, dance and muddle their way through all sorts of mischief. Tripod consists of Steven "Gatesy" Gates (the purple/red guy), Scott "Scod" Edgar (the blue guy) and Simon "Yon" Hall (the green guy), and their guitar, who goes by the name of Courtney. They were well-known for their colourful pyjama-uniforms, until 2001, when they decided they needed to grow up and out of their jarmies.

Tripod have been around the standup circuit since about 1995, and they have also appeared on many TV shows, such as Good News Week, Rove (with the well-publicised "Etc Etc vs Sailor Dance debate"), Hey Hey It's Saturday and Denise.

They have released two CDs in their time, the first being "Box Set", with classic tunes such as 'Bugger Off' and 'A Shandy Too Far', and in 2000 they released "Open Slather", a live recording of some of their shows from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, from the same year. "Open Slather" was re-released at Christmas time in 2000, with three special reworked versions of "I Hate Your Family".

As well as their stand up and TV work, Tripod have also done a fair bit of work on radio, especially on Triple R (with the "Trash Is My Life" segment, in which they wrote songs about celebrities such as Fiona Horne, John Saffran and Tim Ferguson), and Triple J (the Bevan songs, for example, and their magical "Song In An Hour" work for Merrick & Rosso and the Brekkie Show).

These are the wonderful people who have helped me with this mini-site (in no particular order!): Dru, Amanda, Mythor, Epod, Trish, Taurus, Fiona Rohana and DMG.
