DC Danny Glaze
and DS Vik Singh visit a burnt out flat where
Vik's theory of racially motivated arson force him
to take the law into his own hands. On leaving the
estate they pursue a stolen car and discover guns
under the seat. It's traced to recently released
hard man, Michael Bowker. When questioned Bowker
claims to have no knowledge of the weapons - CID
have him followed. Later DC Mickey Webb
photographs Bowker handing over large wads of cash
to a blonde woman whom DCI Jack Meadows recognises
as Angie Weller wife of imprisoned super-grass
Jimmy Weller. They pay her a visit at her posh
house and find a woman desperately waiting for her
husband's release... but she's keeping company her
husband would never approve of. The pieces in the
puzzle don't quite fit and when Bowker turns up
dead Superintendent Chandler is sceptical it was
murder. CID, however, are determined to prove him
wrong. Meadows and Chandler have a heated
discussion over how to handle a race march through
a heavily populated Asian area. Uniform and CID
prepare for unrest in Sun Hill.
