Memorial to Tanya Burr, killed 15 September 2002

Aged fifteen to sixteen years

A photo taken on Tanya's camera by another student on Tanya's behalf, during a S.T.A.R. Photography course at  Manawatu Polytechnic (now UCOL) in 1996. Copied from a proof sheet.

Tanya (at back) demonstrating why as a teenager she was so hard to get photos of, in June 1996 at Auntie Vera's 80th birthday function in Palmerston North. Above are the Burr extended family mostly from Palmerston North. Uncle Russell was sick with the flu and could not attend - so his picture was inset beneath the balloons. Don't know if that is intended to suggest any relationship between his floating head and the floating balloons???

Above: Tanya and her cousin Ira seated at our BBQ table, sometime between mid-1995 and when she left Dannevirke HS in 1997, as the PNGHS jacket she is wearing here was stolen just before she returned to Palmerston North (and PNGHS)!!!!! See also Kieran's photos for the South Island trip Russell took Tanya and Kieran on in early 1997. Russell had expected Tanya to not want to go on the trip when he casually asked her!!!! Below: Tanya trying to look outrageous, complete with a mixture of red and black hair, in January 1998
