Tanya's Diary - Wednesday, 14 August 2002
"Didn't have a very good sleep tonight. Too hot and stuffy and mum snores (!!!). Have breakfast, its cheeses and ham with bread. I'm going to get fat eating so much cheese everyday.
We go and see the church Russell and Jenna will marry in and meet the priest. They go through a practice run, am getting bored. Sit outside in the sun and smoke. Try to tan my pasty white skin.
A reporter arrives and takes photos of us for a local paper.
We go back to Tom and Britt's, have lunch then Elin (Tom and Britt's daughter) takes us shopping. Britt and Jenna come as well. We spend the whole afternoon at mall and I bought 2 things: a skirt that Brit bought me and a dress, and I also got a cool lighter.
Went home, had some dinner, mucked around, then went to bed."
Waiting for the Raumnes reporter outside Nes Church. (Photo: Tom)
The photo below is of us standing outside the Nes Church, Romerike, Norway, that appeared in the Nes district newspaper, Raumnes, on 15 August 2002. Jenna's name is spelt incorrectly and Norwegians tend to spell Russell's name with a single 'l', so we don't notice that. Pam and Dennis arrived the day after this photo was taken. The whole article, in Norwegian, is available here. Two other regional newspapers also covered the wedding. Two of the three later advised their readers of Tanya's death.
