My style is illustrative and spiritual. I teach anatomy at an art school so I incorporate as much realism into my figures as possible without compromising the ethereal aspects of the piece.

Lisa Hunt started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil in her hand. She spent her childhood sketching out the stories that she composed in her head. She loved fairy tales and mythology and derived many of her ideas from universal themes contained in such stories. She has been a professional illustrator for over a decade, with many of her publications reflecting her interest in the feminine divine and the universal themes that are often connected with goddess
mythology.

Today, Lisa still beckons to the muses to create fantastical environments filled with warrior women, beasties of all shapes and sizes and other elements of her psyche. In 1998, Lisa graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Animation. She won awards for both best print and digital portfolios. Her love of mythology, fantasy and fairy tales is evident in her demo reel and print portfolios. Upon graduation, Lisa worked in production as a conceptual designer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Lisa has illustrated numerous books, tarot decks, and other products. In addition to her illustrating and writing career, she is an adjunct instructor at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in the Media Arts & Animation department. Lisa is also pursuing a master's degree at the Union Institute & University with an emphasis on Jungian psychology in the context of writing and visual art.

Celestial Goddesses represents the culmination of many years of meticulous research and sketching, and showcases Lisa's intense interest in the Goddess. Some of her projects include the popular tarot kits, The Celtic Dragon Tarot with D. J. Conway (Llewellyn, 1999) and Shapeshifter Tarot with D. J. Conway and Sirona Knight (Llewellyn, 1997); the children's book, One is a Mouse (Simon & Schuster, 1995); work as a contributing illustrator to the collectible gaming card series, Doomtown (AEG, 2000), 7th Sea (AEG, 2000), Warlord (AEG, 2001), and Legend of the Five Rings (Wizards of the Coast/AEG, 2002); and Llewellyn's 2000, 2001 and 2002 Tarot Calendar. She also creates interior book and magazine illustrations and book covers for various
clients.

Lisa continues her career as a professional illustrator/writer/educator and has several more projects in development. She is currently creating and illustrating another tarot deck with Llewellyn Publications (due to be published 2004 or early 2005). She also continues to illustrate for the collectible gaming card market. Lisa lives in South Florida with her young son, Connor, her fiancé, Kort Kramer, and four cats.
