Lungs in Poor Shape meet on the second Thursday of each month at 1.30pm and rotate their venue between Somerset, Ulverstone and Devonport. The location is advertised in the Advocate under News of the North West.

LIPS has bought chairs for the Breathe Easy Courses, an exercise bike, nebulizer and treadmill for Devonport and has provided a moderate social life for its members.

• Mayor Downie in March who spoke on regulations for roller skates, scooters & bicycles on footpaths.
• Mayor Chalk in April who discussed the same topic in relation to the Wynyard Council.
• Margaret Egan in May who discussed what the Carer's Association has to offer

Lips owes much to its "friends" who assist the group in many ways even though their own lungs may be in good shape.
