Climbing At Calshot

Calshot activities centre is a converted aircraft hanger which has been converted into a centre comprising climbing wall, dry ski/snowboard/toboggon slope and velodrome. It is situated on a penisular and also acts as a centre for sailing/cayeking/walking/school field trips etc. The climbing centre itself is fairly large (amongst the top 20 or so centres in the country) and a recently established route setters club ensures that routes are changed regularly. A new portion of wall was erected in October 2000 adding a further 10m width of rocky overhanging lead and top rope climbs. A very thin pole rock climb has also been added, which has one lead and one top rop climb.

Climbs vary in standard between D and 7a and sufficient routes exist at each level to occupy climbers of all standards.
