Mobb Deep, [Havoc b. c.1975, and Prodigy b. c.1975, Queensbridge, New York, USA] They met in 1988 and soon began rapping together, Havoc having been tutored by his cousin MC Tragedy. They first appeared in 1991 in the ‘Unsigned Hype’ column of The Source Magazine , at the age of sixteen. In 1992 they had got themselves a record deal with Island Records' subsidiary 4th And Broadway. Large Professor and DJ Premier were on the production of their debut album. Shortly after the albums release the record deal collapsed due to disputes with their manager. P and Havoc soon regrouped to record ‘The Infamous’ which displayed their maturity compared to the previous album. They blew up with the track 'Shook Ones Part II' which hit the #1 spot on the Billboard charts in 1995. Soon after came the release of their second album, ‘The Infamous’.
