Take a trip back in time . . . Before the Internet and e-mail . . . Way back . . . I'm talking about hide and seek at dusk; One potato, two potato, three potato, four; Hopscotch, jacks, nocky nine-doors. Saturday afternoon at the pictures; A walk after Sunday dinner; Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt; Jumping on the bed; Pillow fights; Spinning round until you got dizzy and fell down. Walking to school, no matter what the weather; Being tired from playing . . . remember that? Sunday School trips to the seaside. Do you remember when there were two types of trainers? Girls' and boys' - and you only ever wore them for PE lessons! Remember when decisions were made by going: 'Eeny-meeny-miney-mo!' When cuts and grazes were kissed and made better? Did you read the Cathy and Claire page every week in Jackie? Do you remember a new pop group in the Top Ten called the Beatles? If so, you've come to the right place! Put your feet up and remember the good old days! Send us your memories and share the nostalgia!
Underline A Ryton childhood
Drew Irving was born on the 25th of June 1936 at Tower Lodge, Ryton, Co. Durham. He remembers the day war broke out - he was three - but more vividly remembers the taste of his first banana when it was all over. Underline Bonfire Night Many thanks to all of you who sent in your sparkling Bonfire Night memories. Underline
