A note on American cup measures: I find these particularly tricky to convert as it seems to depend on the ingredient being measured. For instance: 1lb of flour = 3½ cups but 1lb of sugar = 2¼ cups. If anyone out there has a reliable chart, I'd appreciate a copy! Otherwise, my advice would be that if you are going to follow a recipe measured in cups invest in a set of cup measures!
