Jim and Lois Charles, Dover, NH, USA, Jim formerly of Birtley

Never met the Lady, but still sad to see her go. It brought back memories of my Nana and Granny, and that was what the Queen Mother was, as well as Head of State. Regardless of for, or against the Monarchy, a family has lost its "anchor" as all families have to.

Rest In Peace and thanks for a great job done.

The Queen Mother was a woman who saw her duty and did it without complaint for her entire long life. She was an inspiration to all and she will be sorely missed. She was one of a kind. May she rest in peace, happily reunited with her husband, daughter, and all her loved ones who have gone before her.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair

She was a unifying force who commanded the affection and respect of the whole nation. There is nothing false or complicated about the public response to her death. It's the simplest of equations. She loved her country and her country loved her.

guestline

Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien

She was a touchstone of timeless values and continuity.

guestline

French President Jacques Chirac

The kindness of her smile created one of the most loved faces of our times.

guestline

Prince Charles

She was, quite simply, the most magical grandmother you could possibly have, and I was utterly devoted to her.
