Red rings: 6, p, 6
Green rings : 4, p, 4
Orange chains: 4, p, 5, p, 4
Lime Green chains: 5
Red chains: 4, p, 4

Fasten last lime green chain to the first red ring. Do not cross the threads; go straight on to the Edging (the parts in grey have already been worked).
Red rings: 6, p, 3, p, 3

Lime Green chains: 3, p, 2, p, 2, p, 2, p, 2
Dark Blue chains: 4, p, 2, p, 2, p, 2, p, 5

Work round all four sides of the squaare. After completing the last purple chain, fasten the shuttle thread to the beginning of the first red chain of this section.
After completing a motif discard the remaining cotton on the bobbin and refill it to make the next one.
Joining the motifs - whilst working the edging, join the middle picot of each group of three to the corresponding one of the previously worked motif/s starting with a corner (see diagram). There are five pairs of picots to be joined between two motifs. The diagram shows the corners of four motifs (each differently coloured), the red lines indicating where two picots are joined.
Press the work with a damp cloth and a hot iron.
