Second half of double-stitch

Step 6: On the left-hand, have middle finger extended and last two fingers tucked under holding circle thread. Pass shuttle behind circle thread below middle finger coming up inside circle thread.

Step 6 - Down in front and up in back

Step 7: Bend middle finger slightly allowing threads to slip off. Holding circle threads securely between thumb and first fingers of left-hand, snap shuttle thread tight so the loop flips from shuttle thread to circle thread forming around shuttle thread.

Note: Only need about 2“ or 3” of thread off shuttle when snapping to make loop flip.

Step 7 - snap shuttle

Step 8: Keeping shuttle thread pulled tight and on the bottom (closest to you), straighten out middle finger loosely picking back up circle thread. Slide that loop gently down to first loop.

Grasp double-stitch securely between thumb and first finger.

Test: The circle thread should move freely through the double-stitch.

Step 8 - Double Stitch

Practice making the complete double-stitch over and over, and sliding stitches down next to each other.
When you have the desired number of stitches in your ring, close the ring by pulling the shuttle thread. Closing up the thread that was around your fingers forms the ring. If you are going to cut each ring apart, tie a single square knot here to hold ring closed.
