This pattern was inspired by Mimi Dillman's Cluny tailed kite pattern. Her original pattern can be found here.
This pattern uses a ½ inch (1cm) button. It can be done with either size 20 thread, or size 8 Perle Cotton.
A version of this pattern using a 3/4 inch (1.5cm) button, and size 10 thread can be found here.
Begin by making a chain of Cluny leaves for the tail. I do at least 5, or it appears a little too short.
