Original image created: October 06, 2002 6:45:44 PM One time while hanging out with friends, a cold front came out and formed a perfectly straight north-south line over the parking lot of San Jacinto college. The sun was behind me, and it illuminated the clouds with this firey orange glow that made the perfect backdrop for the nearby tree.. I was snapping lots of pictures catching all the patterns I could.

This cute little fella is older than I am, and it's had its share of stitching and stuffing up. I suppose the headphones need explaining? Well... Dad eventually got a pair of wireless headphones and then found there was no place to hang them. Bear was sitting up on the shelf above the stereo, and the obvious happened. Don't worry... dad eventually managed to find another place for the headphones, and Bear now just wears them for the shock value.

It somehow took root in the inhospitable steps leading into the Delta building, where students pass it on their way to and from the parking lot or the other buildings. Weeds usually find places on soil, or at least in a crack between slabs of concrete, but not this unlucky plant. I find it interesting that life still managed to take hold at such an inhospitable place as the end of this concrete step.
