Stories, mostly

Today, I've been uploading the first of a couple new things I'm making for the site, including the profiles and background data for stories and such I have written or am writing currently. At the writing of this article, I still don't have title images for the stories, but they're on the way.

I am also preparing to add the related songs to the poetry page, assuming I didn't already. *s* A couple things had been added, removed, rehashed, and otherwise changed, and a couple other things will be as well until it becomes more stable tomorrow.

   'Till then, enjoy the chaos!

Where are the updates?

I know it's been a while since I've done anything official with the site in a while, so I wanted to make up for that. I am currently working on the Stories section at home and hope to have most of it available in time for the beginning of October. No special reason; I figured that would be a good deadline for updates. A few weeks ago, I added some new VTI skin files to ticalc.org, although they didn't include the screenshots.. They haven't added screenshots for any new stuff lately, and I'm sure other program submitters have made them available when they uploaded their programs.. Oh well.

Anyway, so keep an eye out for a few changes here. I've also been removing some outdated and useless clutter from the site as well, mostly because they were useless, and also because I have no idea how much space I will need when I start adding stuff again.

24th B-day's Approaching...

Well, it's that time again.. time for me to post a big update. I know I procrastinate on this a lot, so it's a good thing I set myself up for this time of the year. It reminds me that everything changes, even my homepage, eventually. Anyway, It helps people know I'm still around, and that they can be guaranteed to see something different if they come back again. (as long as I have anything to say about it!)

The updates are mostly minor, given the lack of things to add. The CD I copied the "Content" information to work on this at U of H isn't working on the lab computers, so I'll just have to include them when I get home later. If you see a problem with missing content (such as two missing poems or the real Virtual TI skin files), it's because I couldn't transfer them from the disc or because I still need to take the pictures (such as for the revised Lego section).

I tried to add something new to every section, including a new photo of Bear, my Spring 2003 class schedule at the University of Houston in Clear Lake, a sketch of my room (of which some of you previewed). Anyway, expect a lot more by the end of the week, since I'm not done updating.

Picture Gallery 2...

I'm still not done adding the new gallery, but I'm a little closer now. After my camera finished filling up a 4th CD's worth of photos, I took the time to look through them for some self-portraits I could post.. I haven't written captions yet, but I'm sure that if you were waiting this long, you wouldn't want to keep waiting just for captions..

Up on the Roof!

When this old world starts getting me down.. hehe I get back to updating my page! After my summer break started, I was immediately sent to work on the roof. Yaay.. *unenthusiastic mock cheering* I had to remove the Child of Light stories, because it made no sense to publish it before it was done. To all those people that wanted to keep reading it, I'm sorry. If you still want to read what I have written so far, let me know and I might reconsider putting it back up.

Anyway, since updates have been too little and too far apart, and since I am finally free from the roofing, I wanted to share some more of the stuff I found for the page. Updates include some background information about the Child of Light, some new drawings, and two poems I recently rediscovered.

Eww.. I just discovered that my calc area has been ignored for exactly a year.. How'd that happen? hehe Well, I guess it goes to show you I still have a lot to do.

Preparing for Growth

I have added a lot of new stuff to the site after having a LONG break from it during Lent. I'm back on my Coca Cola habit and getting revved up for writing! Anyway, I added a picture from my collection of Canon photos. I plan to add a new one each time I update until the page gets too large to load, then I'll probably phase out the old ones to an archive somewhere.

I wish to put to rest any thoughts that this site is dead. It is still alive and growing, and I intend to keep it that way. I also added another chapter to the Child of Light story in case some of you are bothering to read it. I have plenty more where that came from, so expect more of the story to trickle in as it becomes ready to be released.

I know, I know.. I still have not finished writing a new image gallery, but it's under construction. I promise it will be ready soon.

What's new?

Greetings everyone! I bet you all thought I left this site for good, huh? Well, I figured you all deserved to see some new stuff here for a change, so I got back to working on it after a very long break. For those of you who know me, you probably also know my birthday's this Wednesday, but before any of you plan on getting me to celebrate early, I gotta tell you to wait 'cuz I'm celebrating my big sister's b-day today!

Anyway, I finally posted the first part of my "Child of Light" story and added some new banner pictures. I have a lot more of it already done as text, but I wanted to polish it a little more before I put it in HTML. I might add some drawings I made for this story soon.

My Canon picture collection has gone past the 1500 mark; I wonder if I'll break 2000 before I have it for a full year. Who knows? I might add some of them to a new page when I get the chance.

Delays..

Yeah, I don't have much of an excuse for delaying the updates to this page except I haven't been keeping up like I hoped. Since a lot of the stuff I was working on at the end of the web design class involved Active Server and stuff like that, I was unable to incorporate any of those lessons to my existing homepage. Grr.. Anyway, Things are finally starting to settle down, and I am spending yet ANOTHER semester at San Jac. Long story, don't ask. Okay, the gist of it was a chemistry class I need to take isn't offered where I was transferring.. Yay.

Anyhow, I gotta put things in perspective. I may not be enjoying such a stagnant lifestyle, but I'm sure many other people would be more than happy to trade problems with me. Who wouldn't rather be stagnant in a community college instead of being in the path of a pair of suicidal jumbo jets on a collision course for your office building? I sincerely wish all the best for those victims at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and for everyone that has been adversely affected by terrorism.

On a side note, I am getting excited about a new Star Trek series, Enterprise. Yeah, I'm a Star Trek fan too. Who isn't? No flooding my email, please; it's a rhetorical question! hehe Hmm.. Maybe I can try folding some Starfleet vessels while I'm waiting.. just 9 days to go.. yeah!

I've been doing some other writings lately, mostly the story of the Child of Light. I might have to add a new section on my homepage eventually since this story has many of its own facets to explore.

Frames

Some of you who haven't been here in a while (like, say, a month?) might be a little disoriented at first, wondering "Where did all these frames come from?" Not to worry.. it's all in the name of progress. Anyway the frames are a part of my latest assignment. Oh boy, these summer courses just whizz by don't they? hehe Just to let'cha know, forms are coming up tonight..

Resumé

For those of you wondering what I am up to lately, I am now taking a Web design class. The good news is that I'm actually getting credit for the stuff I do on my homepage, the bad news is my page-editing procrastination days are over. Okay, okay, that's not really bad news, but you know what they say about old habits. If you don't, just smile and nod in understanding as if you do.. *nod nod nod* Anyway, feel free to take a look at one of my assignments: a Resumé. Be warned.. unlike the rest of my site, it does not have a index bar, so if you want to get back here, you'll need to use the Back button on your browser.

Calculators

My Calculators section has had a small overhaul. The individual calculator pages have been removed and replaced with stuff about all of them in general, and some more of my Paint Art, some VTI Emulator skins, have been added to the section. I am pleased that this long-neglected section of my site is finally getting some attention. And I'm also glad I could take down the "Under Construction" signs from the section.

I also added a link on the Origami page so that other people can read more about the story of Sadako Sasaki.

Updates, updates, updates!

I am happy to say that I have someone very special to me and that I couldn't ask for more than the love and happiness with which she enriches my life daily. Julia, I love you very much. I always look forward to seeing and hearing from you, and miss you every time we are apart.

It's been a long time since I've touched this site, I know. A lot has been going on lately, and so I felt it deserved some attention. On a bright note, I have a new camera, Canon's Powershot S20, so I might actually take more pictures for all those people still visiting my site.. both of them. I also fixed up the El Paso area. Somehow, the process of uploading all the stuff for my page mixes up all the files that are being uploaded, and so I had to inspect each page, each thumbnail, and each picture to make sure they matched up with the local version on my Zip disk. I was slow to fix it because I had so many things I needed to do (often preferred to do), like homework, chat, take care of some more programming

Unfortunately, as of April 17, The Park has declared bankruptcy, and so the chatrooms I used to hang out in are either gone or will be shortly.. I spent much of last month looking for friends I had met there once or twice and trading contact info. Some of the people from the Roleplaying Room moved to another site called The Pork, but to me it seems like a cheap rip-off of the original. The Park will be missed.

My calculator programming just got a major kick in the backside to get me started on it again. ticalc.org recently announced that Texas Instruments (TI) wants to make a CD containing some of the calculator programs offered at ticalc.org's website. So, right now, I'm pushing myself to get Aim 89 ready in time to make it on the CD this fall. I'm writing a software development kit for programmers that want to write their own calculator player strategies for it and trying to clean it up so that I will be able to expand on it later..

Cosmetic Changes

Again, I have made changes to the entire site.. I had been experimenting with new backgrounds for my homepage and thought they could replace the solid backgrounds I had for the undecorated pages. Also, the title images have been subtly changed to make them shine a little better as well. Much of this was made possible by the creation of a bigger palette image. Also added is a banner for linking to my site. What do you think?

Whoa, I'm 22 now?

Well, I'm finally back again, and feeling like my page is really old right now too! Thanks to all those that wished me a happy birthday yesterday! Well, now I gotta go fix up all my stats to say I'm 22. hehe And Of course, I have something extra special to add to the site: Drawings in Windows Paint. I'm also pondering a rant page.. just writing for the heck of it.

Happy New Year!

I know this site has not been updated in a while now, but I'm finally getting back to work here and changing a lot of stuff. New to this site are the categories Art and Hobbies. I have reorganized the link bar at the top of all the pages to be more compact and to reflect the categories. No pages have been moved from their original locations, so you do not need to update any bookmarks. Also, you can still visit any page in the site from the index.

Drawings and Legos

Well, After looking at the Drawings page from my home computer, I was horrified to discover that it wasn't showing up properly on Netscape, which is the browser I prefer to use. I corrected the tables and so the Drawings page should look alright now. Sorry, people!

In addition to this, I also took some pictures of my Legos over the weekend; until I write up pages for them you can see the pictures here: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Just to celebrate the coming holidays, I thought I'd break away from the traditional purple in the front page and make things that much more festive. The background was scanned from red holographic tissue paper I had originally was going to use for origami. Unfortunately, it proved to be a terrible paper for folding, but it sure is pretty, isn't it? *grin* Anyway, I spent a lot of time recoloring the title image (from the original bitmaps) and testing font colors to get the color scheme looking just right. Although I think the "Facets" in the image is a little too much on the green side, I found red was too difficult to use considering the background.

Update: Drawings

I added some more scans to my drawings page.. you ought to take a look! Now there are some gadgets and Campus Cats.. (more of them coming soon)

Update: Drawings

I must apologize for not updating recently, but ya know how classes get near the end of the semester.. I know I said I would finish the drawings page soon, and I haven't forgotten that. I just don't have very many drawings scanned. I hope the Tavern drawings will be okay for now. *smile* In addition to this, I also updated the navigation bar for every page in the site.

UPDATE: Roleplaying Page

I just removed the Under Construction notice from the page after adding two images to the Roleplaying page and making subtle changes to the text. On a side note, I also removed the orange links from the index page, opting to place the color codes on the left margin of this page. In addition to this, I also added several origami links. The Drawings page is still in the works, but it should be ready by Thanksgiving.

Origami

If you had seen my origami page, you know there isn't that much as far as content was concerned. I am already looking at some origami links and plan to add that category to the links page.

In addition to the links, I'd like to contribute my own additions to the medium. I have added my own twists to the common "Magic Star" folds , including a six-sided star and a much sharper variation to the original octagonal star.

Legos

With Christmas along the way, I'm hoping for Lego prices to drop, and lots of new stuff becoming available. Lately, I have not been playing with them as often as I used to because of the many things of which I'm trying to take care in college and on this website.

More Facets?

There are so much many different things I could be writing besides this, but I figured it would be a good idea to look into what is coming up in the near future now that this page is online.
