I was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1976, and was raised on a grain farm 13 1/2 miles northeast of Tisdale, Saskatchewan.

Upon graduation from Tisdale Unit Composite School in 1994, I attended the beautiful University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon for three years, taking general studies courses in the the college of Arts and Science.

The summer of 1996, I attended a Christian missions project in Calgary, Alberta with the organization Campus Crusade for Christ. It was during this summer that I found out about the journalism program at Mount Royal College in Calgary.

I began my studies in journalism at Mount Royal the fall of 1997, and because I was able to transfer many credits from the U of S, I was able to complete the four-year applied degree program in 2 1/2 years.

The summer of 1998, I completed my first work term in the corporate communications department at the national headquarters for Campus Crusade for Christ in Langley, B.C.

The summer of 1999, I completed my second work term in a more traditional journalism setting -- this time I worked as a reporter for the Melfort Journal, a weekly community newspaper in a city of about 6,000 people.

After completing my applied degree in communications in December 1999, I travelled to Honduras for two weeks in January 2000 to build houses in Monjaras, a community that was highly affected by hurricane Mitch in 1998.

Currently I am working as a reporter/photographer at the Taber Times, a weekly newspaper in Taber, Alberta.

Soon I will be moving to the San Diego area to take up a position teaching journalism and yearbook as well as doing communications for Santa Fe Christian School.
