Their Beliefs?
Editor, Oberlin Review: I notice in the September 30 issue of the Review that three Oberlin College seniors discovered, in their Office of Placement and Graduate Counseling folders, certain records of their anti-war activities. Two of them had had their names printed in a full-page Review ad in 1968 as signers of a "We Won't Go" statement, and the third had demonstrated against Navy recruiters in 1967. They asked that these records be removed because of the possibility they might fall into the wrong hands, namely into the hands of prospective employers or schools, recommendation writers, or attorneys. Perhaps the OPGC should not have included such extra-academic items in its files. However, it strikes me as slightly hypocritical that those who, as underclassmen, so boldly proclaimed to the world their anti-war beliefs (which presumably they still hold) should now prefer that the establishment not know about it.
