MY MAJOR IN COLLEGE

Since I began to study Math in the second grade, I have had a good feeling about it, and I like it. Mathematics is the most important subject in college; also, the engineering major requires a lot of Math; therefore, I chose Electrical Engineering as my college major.
I chose my major when I started to register for classes in Tidewater Community College. I knew that Math is an easy subject for me, so I registered for Math and English as a Second Language classes immediately. In the first semester, I didn't understand English well, and I wanted to see a counselor. I told him I wanted to be an engineer. Then, he gave me a list of engineering subjects; there was Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics, etc.
Mathematics has affected my life. I can apply Math to take a measurement and I can solve many other problems. It is easy if you study hard at the beginning; you must understand it from the basics. For example, there is addition, subtraction, division, fractions and decimal points.
Since I understand Math well, I feel more excited to take advanced classes, and I can help my friends to solve their homework. When I applied for work-study, I was a Math grader. I finished my Associate's Degree in TCC, and I completed all my Math subjects, which are required for the engineering major.
I chose the right major. I love Math, and I am more excited about school. I am preparing myself for higher education. I will study higher Math levels, and I continue to finish my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering major.

THE WAY BOYS AND GIRLS ARE RAISED

Every country has different customs. When boys and girls grow up, they also depend on the situation and conditions of society. Their lives change; such as, they have good or bad behavior which comes from their education, characteristics and emotions. My country has some different customs between how boys and girls act and behave.
When boys and girls are young kids, they live and grow up in their family. Parents take care and educate them to learn and follow their family's tradition. Most boys and girls have to go to school, but depending on their family's income, some of them get out of school early, before they go to High School. When boys and girls start in Elementary School, which is first to fifth grades, the teacher indicates to them to sit separately; boys and girls are divided. Boys have to sit in rows and in a column side by side. Girls also sit in rows and in a column side by side. When boys and girls go to High School, which is from sixth to twelfth grades, they continue to sit separately, and they have to wear uniforms in school. Boys wear navy blue pants and white short sleeve shirts while girls wear black pants and white short sleeve shirts.
Boys like to discover new things, and they mostly play soccer, volleyball or billiards. The girls are a little shy and look gentle. They seldom play with boys. I remember when I was a student in High School, I sometimes went with my friends, and we made jokes with girls. When they got mad, they didn't say anything, they just went away, and they didn't get into a quarrel with us. In my country, boys smoke cigarettes, but girls don't want to smoke cigarettes.
Boys like to play games outside, and they don't like to stay inside the house. Girls seldom play outside. They stay home and take care of their house. They sweep the floors and clean equipment to keep them looking like new. They expect everybody when they go in the house, to leave their flip-flops or shoes at the door before they come in.
Girls and boys usually help their parents at home. Boys can cultivate vegetables or work in the back yard or in the farm. Girls like to cook food. They learn how to cook meals for their family. Gradually, girls can cook many kinds of food, whatever they want.
Girls also take care of their young brothers or sisters when their parents go out. Girls can help their parents a lot as they take care of kids better than boys. Boys don't know how to take care of kids much when kids are crying. When girls and boys grow up to about 18 years old, parents can help them to prepare to get married. Boys and girls can make their decision, but they must listen to the parent's opinion. That is traditional in my country. It is easy for boys and girls to get married.
Finally, boys like to play games outside, and girls mostly don't like to play the games outside. As they stay home, they help their parents go to the food market and cook their meals. They work hard and keep their house clean. Boys and girls are raised in the traditional culture.
