Day 5 Ogden Today we played Germany. Their skip played amazing. But our whole team stuck with it and prevailed in the end. Mark (the cutie) was the hot shooter today. "you call it, He'll make it". "he's some good b'ye". FINALLY we got to go golfing (real golfing) It was at the Ben Lomond golf course. You can probably guess who won, Brad, he was even. and the worst was suprise, suprise, Jamie. Mark was the hot and cold shooter. He had 2 birds but still managed to finish with 42 on a 9 hole. This bit is not for the SPCA to see, Brent hit a tree that a poor Doggy was tied to, why a dog was tied to a tree in the middle of a golf course beats me. Jamie, with his Happy Gilmore impression, hit a ball on the Highway. If the van had been traveling a little slower he would have met Mr. Ball and then R. Ditch. But it never, so it's all good. Once again when we returned to the hotel and we went straight for hotshots golf. I think Jamie is the Best @ that!!!! For supper we went to Pizza Hut. They had only one waiter in the whole resturant. 50 min later we got our appetizers. In the end we got the whole meal free. Free is good. Free is better than good. Free is Free. Right now Jamie, Jeff and Tom (Team Leader) are on their way to match rocks. So for tonight we rest untill 1:00 tomorrow when we battle Sweden. We have a celebrity on the team: Mike "Heavy D" Adammmmmm..hahaha. Quote for today: "What time is it sunny out now" (yayaya Jamie) Todays new word: "Chapula" (Chalupa)
Day 6 Ogden There should be a rule stating that "no curling games should be played before 12:00pm" 8:30 is way to early. Our game today started at 1:00 its perfect. You get up at 10:00 muck around for a bit, eat , and go curling. Most of you are reading this at work or at school right now, I'm (Jamie) watching our game against Sweden. While most of you are very very hard at work. It is really sunny out about 55(F). Most of you have show on the ground lol. But back to curling. We ate at a place called Quiznos. It's a place were they sell oven baked subs. To tell the truth, it tasted like eating plain buttered bread. Mark (Piggy) hogs the first rock for the team since the tourney started. But on his next rock comes back with a good leagel shot. What's this Jamie is coming in to the game.... At this point it's the end of the 7th and we are up 7-3 with hammer. Before I tell you how he (I) curled let me tell you what shots I played. First was a draw to the four-foot. Which I made perfect. After that there was a throw through, and then there was to four ticks that Brad called for me to make. So you do the math the throw through didn't count for stats. Jamie curled 20%. 20% yep that's right its not a typo. It was great to get into a game. The boys haven't tormented me too much yet, but I can only imagine what Trichkett will say. After all the games were finished, there was an exhibition match between Team Sweden Men vs. and All-Star Team. On team Sweden was (Peter Lindholm, Peter Narup, Thomas Nordin, and Magnus Swartling. On the All-Star Team their was Tormod Andreassen(Norway), Hammy McMillan (Scotland), Ulrik Schmidt (Denmark, and Markku Uusipaavalniemi (Finland). Team Sweden Won teh game 9-6. After all that we went to the Good Time Spaghetti Company for some eaten. After that we came back to the Ice Sheet to watch our girls play Sewden. It was a really close game. The girls ended up losing, but they are still in second place and in good shape to make the playoffs. There is no hospitality room at the hotel. So most of the players hang out at the lobby. The lobby is fine but you have to watch what you are saying. Well that's abot all I can tell you. After all this is a family web site. Stay tune for more adventures of Team Canada Quote for today The shuttle is leaving for anyone who is taking the hotels back to the busses. Today's new word "sublimation"
Day 7 Ogden Once again we have the early game. Early sucks! We ate breakfast at the hotel again this morning. And for the 7th straight time they had the same thing. Eggs, Bread, wedges, fruit, bacon, and sausages. We have learned some new curling words from the Scottish girls team. We say board weight and they say barryearr (barrier). Oh!!! the word on the ice is that a certain Mr. Hamilton has his eye on a certain girl on the Canadian girls team. The name of this girl cannot be released at this time, but we will keep you posted. Today is a two game day. In the morning we played Russia. They didnt play to bad. At the Fifth end break we were up 4-1 but in control of the game. In the 7th end Jamie comes in to the game for Brent. Today Jamie played much much better than yesterday. He more than doubled his percentage by curling 45%. During the game we added a new member to the barnyard club. Brent hogged a rock in the 5th end. So now we have the three little piggy's on the team. Mark, Mike, and Brent. Not only do yu get tormented by your team for hogginh a rock you also have to pay the team $20. We ended up winning the game handily. After we left and had a bit to eat we had to come right back and play against Denmark. We got off to a really quice start by getting 4 in the first end and stealling 1 in the second. Not much to say about this game we just played really well. Oh Jamie got to play this game. He came in the game in the 8th end. I only through 2 shots. A draw that was light and a peel that missed. If you can do the math you will find that Jamie curled 0%. hahahahaha. Anyway I think that that is a record or something. I'm taking it pretty well. The boy's are having a field day with it. I would need to make another web site to fit in all the names I'v been called over the last day. It's not only the boy's, all the girls are tormenting me to. The way I look at it is that it was wort it. All the girls know me now. When we got back to the hotel we ordered pizza. By the time Mike and Jamie got up to the room, it was all gone. The other vultures had it all gone. Gone as in nothing, zero (Jamie's percentage), they ate it all. After that we all just veged out talk to so girlies and then went to sleep. Anyway this is Captain donut signing off. 0 Quote for today "If your stoooder staded there" (Brad) Todays new word "Pubble" (What Brad calles pebble)
