Work

For about 4 weeks Gold 4 worked at the Everglades Conservation Youth Camp, ridding the area of Brazilian pepper, a pesky exotic plant that's taking over Florida's native eco system. Weather was hot and humid and the work wasn't the best. To give us a break from Aug 5-12 we traveled to Camilla, Georgia to help Gold 2 with thei Habitat for Humanity blitz build where we put up 10 houses in just 8 days. It was nice to see so many houses go up from scratch. Then we came back and took out more Brazilian Pepper and by Sept. 1 there was very little BP to be found around the camp ground!
